Under the good momentum of achieving over half of the annual production in the first half of the year, the production of Lygend HPL has reached a new high for two consecutive months. As of the end of August 2023, Lygend HPL's cumulative nickel metal production reached 39,900 tons, with a year-on-year increase of over 40%. The production of the entire system is stable, maintaining continuous operation at full load, laying a solid foundation for successfully completing the plan of producing 55,000t metal nickel annually.
Lygend HPL is a wet smelting project company jointly invested and constructed by Lygend Resources and Indonesian partners. Lygend Resources have been engaged in the nickel industry chain for many years. The HPL project not only has optimized the nickel wet smelting process and process of the G3 high-pressure acid leaching process, but also has significantly reduced the consumption of various raw and auxiliary materials and production costs.
After years of careful construction, the HPL project has become one of the most advanced nickel-cobalt compound wet smelting technologies in the world, and has also become the lowest cash cost nickel-cobalt compound production project in the world. At present, it has achieved a total production capacity of 55,000t nickel metals for two phases of projects, laying a solid foundation for Lygend HPL's sustained and stable development.
Since the successful feeding and trial production of high-pressure autoclaves on April 27, 2021, Lygend HPL has been in a full-load production mode, exceeding the annual production task in the first year. In 2022, the production of the MHP product metal nickel of Lygend HPL's two series of high-pressure autoclaves exceeded 42,000 tons, with a capacity utilization rate of over 100%. In January 2023, the third high-pressure autoclave was put into operation. At the end of March 2022, the nickel sulfate system was officially put into operation, further improving the company's production. With the upgrading of products towards high quality and diversification, the company has been able to actively respond to the variability of the market, stabilize and improve the level of efficiency.
